Message: This Sabbath we conclude our “Family Focus” series with the best way to multiply your influence yet! Ultimately, it’s about multiplying God’s influence in this world through our lives. And our children are arrows, let’s shoot them straight!
Things Happening: Speaking of Children, have you seen our MOPS sign up in front of the church? Remember that Mothers of Preschoolers are invited to meet every first Wednesday of each month from 10am-noon. I don’t need to tell you that these moms share a special camaraderie!
We also had a great time at the barn party this past Saturday evening. Wish I had more pictures but a great time was had by all. A big thank you to Art and Diana Roth for opening up their place!
Every week I love hanging and playing soccer with these young people!
Finally this past Sunday was a work bee. Again, I wish I had more pictures. So many people came out to help improve our church facility. A LOT of work was done. A big thank you to all who came out in support. Here is the only picture I have of the event (which was used to send to Dollie Montgomery so she could acquire additional supplies!)
Message: We started a new Family Focus at Riverview last Sabbath. If you missed it don’t forget that our services are archived and you can look them up online. We recently expanded our online presence to include a YouTube channel which you can check out here. Be sure to subscribe to the channel if you want to stay connected to your church family even when you are away. You can always access the service from our website as well by clicking the “Live” or “Watch Live” buttons. This coming Sabbath there will be no worship service due to the Northeast Tennessee Camp Meeting but we will continue our Family Focus on September 29th. Till then, be sure to nurture your marriages and focus on your family!
Things Happening: Well, our small groups have launched and are underway! You may remember that we prayed for eight small groups and God blessed us with even more! Here are a few pictures from SOME of the groups:
Check out these pictures from Chelle Tomlinson‘s baby shower. We are so excited for her baby boy. Also, don’t forget the baby shower this Sunday, Sept. 23rd from 3-5pm for Beth Shelton‘s baby girl!
Love the joy we share together, down by the riverside…
Well, it’s been awhile since my last post. Mainly due to this guy:
But with the school year underway and things getting back to normal I’ve decided to start back up.
This summer at Riverview we have been journeying through the minor prophets covering one book each Sabbath. Share in a worship service with us this Saturday at 11am as we look at Zephaniah and see that God is a purifying fire!
Yesterday I had a chance to share a worship thought with our students at GAA. I was impressed by the spiritual tenor of the campus with time spent in prayer under the guidance of SA spiritual leader Kiran Finley.
This summer was full of fun visiting and hanging out with folks. Here are some pictures of fun moments:
Also, it was a blast to involve our young people at Riverview throughout the summer:
We are so thankful for Patty Mcclure and her new life in Christ! Here are some long overdue pics from her baptism in April.
When I consider some of the things going on with new Riverview small groups, sabbath school classes, and more, I rejoice in the work that God is doing among us!
Another summer highlight was my ordination service. I was so thankful to share the moment with my church family at Riverview.
This month Riverview is on a journey through the book of 1 John as God is calling us to a deeper love for Him and others.
The final steps are in process, but did you know thatRiverview agreed to give $1,000,000 to our school (GAA) for worthy student aid?!!! The money is a gift to the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Greene County from AHS after the loss of Takoma. We hope and pray that that this money will be put to good use in making an Adventist Education more affordable for more families!
Do you recognize this guy? (Nice to see a familiar face even if it is with a different logo!)
A special thank you to the whole church family for the AMAZING baby shower! (These pictures do not do it justice.)
Sy Gallimore has been serving the past few months as a student missionary in Pohnpei. Check out this mission project he created:
February was a busy month down by the riverside. Full of highs and lows. But most of all full of God’s continuous grace! We are starting March with a sermon series exploring the gap between God’s promises and our current reality. We are discovering faith through the life of Abraham.
A very special thank you to everyone who was involved with the creation seminar. What a blessing! A tremendous success for the kingdom. We had over 50 guests from the community on opening night. One of these guests, Roger Coutant was recently baptized with his wife into the Greeneville SDA Church. Another, Patty Mcclure is preparing for baptism at Riverview on March 10. Praise the Lord! Even for those not making that decision, it was most certainly a blessing. What a privilege to serve a loving Creator!
Our party watching the Superbowl was a blast! As you can see, there was more to do than just watch the game.
Loved having a chance to watch my wife teach beginner’s Sabbath School. Proud of all our beginner class kids, parents, and teachers!
Message: This Thursday & Friday 6-7 PM and on Sabbath 11-12:30 AM.
Such a blessing last year, this year’s Riverview Revival promises to be a tremendous blessing. Sing songs together and hear personal testimonies about God at work!
Things Happening: If there is one event this year that we hope you will invite your friends to visit, it’s this one! This evangelistic series will hope to bless skeptics and seekers alike by strengthening our commitment to the Word of God. The meetings will be Feb. 9, 10, 11, 12, 15, 16, 17 at 7pm each night. To reserve seats and find more information look up the event website at www.bigquestionseminars.org/greeneville See you there!
Our Wednesday prayer meetings continue to bless us as we review a 12 step journey to wholeness. Join us this Wednesday at 5:30pm for food and fellowship followed by prayer and a study of step #4.
Having GAA Band and our Pathfinder club visit us the past two Sabbaths has been great. We are so proud of our young people and encouraged by seeing them use their talents in music, drama, and the spoken Word for God!
