September 1-7

Message: Have you ever suffered defeat? Chances are you have. But the defeats of this life are not always what they at first appear. Jesus said, “34 When He had called the people to Himself, with His disciples also, He said to them, “Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. 35 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it. 36 For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? 37 Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? 38 For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him the Son of Man also will be ashamed when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels.” Mark 8:34-38 Join us this Sabbath as we learn about a God who turns defeat into victory for all who are faithful as we continue our series, “Reformation Reborn: The Bohemian Reformation.”

Things Happening: Sharing a fellowship meal together twice this week was such a blessing! I love my church family down by the riverside…

Jasper’s 4th Birthday party was amazing! It was good to see a great turnout from church kids to support him. Happy Birthday Jasper Campbell!

This week we officially dedicated our playground which is up and running. What a tremendous blessing!

Check out this slide show of our playground being built! Thank you Chris Small.   https://www.facebook.com/RiverviewCommunitysda/videos/1522089214521239/

Personal: It was a pleasure to play basketball with a great group of guys and girls at GAA on Tuesday night. I especially enjoyed playing with Robert and Ben Hastings and Davy Ondreijka. Proud of these guys for living out their Christian witness even on the basketball court with friends from the community. Great playing together!20170905_190641
